A Very Merry Unbirthday to You! Giveaway

This week I'm celebrating my birthday. On Wednesday, December 5th, I'll be 28 years old, officially (read: depressingly) into my "late twenties." Regardless of that, I am really excited for my birthday this year and I want to celebrate!

As a kid my birthdays tended to be disgusting examples of what happens when a large family has only one child to spoil for nearly a decade. My second birthday was particularly offensive. According to family legend I got so tired of opening presents after an hour that I burst into tears and refused to open anymore.

So, taking the history of an overabundance of generosity in my direction, this year I've decided to adopt the Hobbit tradition of giving presents, rather than receiving and thus,a giveaway!

I'll be giving away TEN $10 giftcards to Amazon, Barnes and Noble or the Book Depository. The winners get to choose where they'd like their prizes from!

  1. Oooh hard one. I would have to say... when I was little, my mom's best friend ordered a truckload of balloons and it drove up to my house during my birthday party. I was thrilled!

By far my favorite present was a trip to Europe for my 18th birthday, my Uncle has done some huge gifts, $500, iPods, weekends away but this took the cake, I don't think I sat still the whole trip from Australia to Rome.

I must say I love giving gifts, I was away for my Mum's 50th so I organized a present for her and she had no idea so she got something she always wanted while I was away working in America, just as exciting as getting presents I think!

  37. Happy Birthday! As for my best give ever, when I was ten, I asked for a gymnastic mat. My mom bought me one and hid it under our dining room table for over a week. I never saw it, and reminded her every day that all I wanted was a gymnastics mat. I was completely surprised when I actually got it, and she was completely surprised I didn't think to look for it under the table, the only place big enough to hide the giant box.

  53. For my 18th, my boyLovey, who is now my husband, gave me a 24 pack of Mt.Dew. My parents didn't buy pop or ever keep it in the house. So since this was a gift to me, it was all mine to decide what to do with it. My pretty, popular younger sister, who never coveted anything about me, had to ASK me for one if she wanted some. ;)
